13.3 Thousand Cameras and 2,688 Guards to Secure Expo 2020

Dubai' Security Industry Regulatory Agency “SIRA” announced the completion of all its tasks related to security consulting, auditing of devices, granting individual and institutional licenses, and permits for fireworks at Expo 2020 Dubai, pointing out that the exhibition is secured by about 13,370 security cameras and 2,688 security guards..

pIn conjunction with the launch of Expo 2020 Dubai within 30 days, SIRA launched a campaign on its traditional and digital media platforms and at SIRA's headquarters across employees and clients, to prepare everyone to be part of the largest event in the world.

SIRA confirmed that it had completed 100% of its role in providing security advice to Expo 2020 Dubai, pointing out that its advisory role is to provide technical specifications and develop a standard methodology for designing security systems.

SIRA explained that it had also completed checks on the security services used in the exhibition, and ensured that they are 100% compliant to the specifications. In addition, it has fulfilled role in providing security licenses and permits, delivering 100% of all required licenses: uniforms of Expo 2020 Dubai security guards approved; permits required for fireworks issued, fireworks locations checked, Expo security licenses and permits issued for individuals, hotels and businesses.

SIRA's Expo-related campaign mainly targets the public, SIRA's employees. It includes an introductory video explaining SIRA's role in Expo 2020 Dubai, as well as detailed publications highlighting the role each participating department has played in accomplishing the required tasks.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 16 January 2025: On the sidelines of the #Intersec global conference and exhibition, hosted annually by Dubai in January under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Security Industry Regulatory Agency (SIRA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) at the conclusion of the exhibition. The MoU aims to strengthen frameworks for joint cooperation in the organization and hosting of major events, exhibitions, and conferences, thereby supporting the security and safety ecosystem for local and international events.
