The awards stem from a firm belief that individual achievements of security personnel are the cornerstone for improving company performance and advancing the sector as a whole, in line with the leadership’s vision that people always come before place—especially in one of the most noble and vital professions whose role directly impacts growth, prosperity, community well-being, and the preservation of achievements.
The awards seek to highlight exemplary security role models and create professional figures to be emulated in the security industry, while also motivating the business sector to attract, develop, and recognize qualified security talent on an annual basis, and to foster a spirit of positive competition among companies operating in this field.
Since their launch, the awards have included three main categories, led by the Elite Award, which is granted to professionals who have dedicated a significant part of their careers to serving and developing the private security sector in the UAE, exceeding 20 years of exceptional contributions beyond conventional achievements. The Efficiency Awards are granted to leaders, decision-makers, engineers, and administrators who have demonstrated a high level of competence and professionalism. In addition, the Excellence Awards honor outstanding guards, technicians, and technologists within specific security roles.
Under the slogan “Behind Every Moment of Safety,” the Community Voting Category has been introduced this year in conjunction with the Year of the Community. This category aims to highlight the human and professional role of security personnel by showcasing positive stories and experiences of community members with security professionals who help make Dubai one of the safest and happiest cities in the world, emphasizing the importance of recognizing any commendable gesture or exceptional performance in this context.
This year’s SIRA Awards ceremony will also feature a special milestone, as it will announce the naming of one of the annual Intersec Awards after His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, in coordination and cooperation with the Security Industry Regulatory Agency, in appreciation of his supportive role in advancing the security and safety sector in the Emirate of Dubai. This award will be granted to emerging Emirati talents in the sector, with the winner to be announced during the SIRA Security Professionalism and Excellence Awards ceremony.
