The program commenced with an introductory presentation delivered by Alia Hamad Al Khumairi, who provided an overview of the Security Industry Regulatory Agency, its role in regulating and developing the private security sector in the Emirate of Dubai, and its responsibilities in licensing and regulating security companies, overseeing security systems, and enhancing safety, security, and quality of life across the emirate.

This was followed by a security awareness lecture presentation delivered by Alia Hamad Al Khumairi, who provided an overview of the Security Industry Regulatory Agency, its role in regulating and developing the private security sector in the Emirate of Dubai, and its responsibilities in licensing and regulating security companies, overseeing security systems, and enhancing safety, security, and quality of life across the emirate.

This was followed by a security awareness lecture presented by Engineer Mohammed Omar Al Kous, who explained the concept of an integrated security system as a comprehensive framework of devices, technologies, and procedures designed to protect people and property, prevent and detect risks, issue timely alerts, and facilitate rapid emergency response, thereby strengthening community security.

Engineer Al Kous reviewed the key approved security systems, including Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) systems, Access Control systems, Intruder Alarm systems, and Intercom systems. He explained the function of each system and highlighted how these systems integrate and connect with operations rooms to improve the efficiency of the overall security infrastructure and provide the highest levels of protection.

He also discussed SIRA’s requirements for security systems, which are aimed at enhancing security across the Emirate of Dubai, ensuring the quality of security systems, verifying that they are installed in accordance with approved standards and regulations, protecting individuals’ privacy, and ensuring that installations are carried out by licensed companies and qualified technicians. These requirements contribute to the standardization of security practices across various facilities.

The lecture further included practical guidance on maintaining the efficiency of security systems during the summer season. Recommendations included protecting external cables and wiring from direct sunlight, selecting high-quality weather-resistant surveillance cameras, conducting regular maintenance of security systems, and storing recording devices in secure locations away from excessive heat and humidity to ensure continuous and reliable operation.

The program concluded with a presentation by Dr. Mohammed Al Hassan, who introduced the "Thank You, UAE" campaign organized by SIRA under the "Emirates of Safety" initiative. He highlighted the campaign’s objectives of promoting a culture of gratitude towards the United Arab Emirates and encouraging citizens, residents, and visitors to record messages of appreciation that document their experiences and inspiring stories, reflecting the values of loyalty, belonging, and community cohesion.

Mr. Jamal Al Ameri, Director of the Corporate Communication Department at the Security Industry Regulatory Agency (SIRA), said:

"SIRA is committed to delivering its awareness messages to all segments of society, based on our belief that security awareness is the cornerstone of enhancing safety and preventing risks. These lectures form part of the Agency’s continuous efforts to increase public knowledge of security systems and the requirements governing their use, while empowering community members to adopt best practices that contribute to protecting lives and property."

He added:

"Retirees represent a fundamental pillar of the UAE’s journey of development and have played a significant role in building the nation and its achievements. Accordingly, we are keen to involve them in our awareness programs in recognition of their valuable contributions and our belief in their important role in promoting a culture of safety and security within the community. This further strengthens community partnership and reinforces the principle that security is everyone’s responsibility."

The event concluded with an interactive discussion session, during which participants’ questions were addressed and views were exchanged on the importance of security systems and their role in protecting individuals and property. The session also emphasized the importance of complying with security requirements as a key factor in enhancing community safety.
