Al-Slais: Artificial Intelligence is Reshaping the Future of Security Professions

His Excellency Khalifa Al-Slais, CEO of the Security Industry, delivered an opening keynote titled “The Future of Security Professions in the Age of Artificial Intelligence.” He highlighted the need to keep pace with the rapid advancements in AI and machine learning technologies, which are set to transform the landscape of the security job market and its requirements. These changes will make the field more selective than ever, where the future belongs only to those who believe in the potential of technological advancement and are prepared for it. He emphasized that AI is no longer just a supporting tool but a key partner in decision-making and management.

Al-Slais referred to data from the World Economic Forum, which indicates that 22% of current jobs will be restructured92 million jobs will disappear, and 170 million new jobs will be created. However, around 39% of current skills will lose their value within the next five years, calling for urgent upskilling and requalification of the workforce.

He also noted that institutions that have integrated AI technologies have seen a 60% reduction in security errors and a 40% increase in emergency response speed, demonstrating the direct impact of these technologies on enhancing security performance.

Al-Slais affirmed that AI is now capable of performing complex tasks such as surveillance, analysis, strategic security planning, and even designing personalized training programs for each trainee. This reduces the need for traditional training and boosts resource efficiency.

In conclusion, he urged organizations to adopt AI as a strategic partner, not a competitor, stressing that the real threat lies not in the technology itself, but in delaying adaptation. He added:
“Those who will thrive in this era are the ones with analytical thinking, flexibility, and the vision to see AI as a growth opportunity—not a threat to the future.”
