His Excellency Khalifa Ibrahim Al-Sleis, CEO of the Security Industry Regulatory Authority (SIRA), confirmed that their vision goes beyond traditional protection to creating a secure environment that supports investment and innovation. He emphasized that sustainable security is not a "choice" but a necessity. He stated that their role in the "security industry" is to develop flexible and advanced security infrastructure that contributes to protecting society and enhances the UAE's journey towards global leadership. This is achieved through the development of smart systems, training personnel to the highest standards, and strengthening sustainable security solutions that support stability and growth.
He explained that the testing and development laboratory affiliated with the Security Industry Regulatory Authority (SIRA) is the first of its kind in the Middle East. It focuses on testing and certifying security equipment before installation in facilities, ensuring the highest safety and quality standards. He noted that it includes testing surveillance cameras to verify their quality and operational efficiency, camera recording devices to ensure accurate and reliable recordings, as well as testing cash transport vehicles to ensure compliance with maximum protection standards. Additionally, it tests alarm systems to assess response speed and efficiency, money transport bags equipped with the latest security systems, motion sensor systems, door sensors to check the precision and sensitivity of detection, and locks for gold and jewelry shops to enhance protection against security breaches.
An Innovative System for Camera Testing
The CEO of the Security Industry Regulatory Authority (SIRA) mentioned that the authority has developed a unique system for testing surveillance cameras, which involves conducting precise tests based on global standards. This is done through a mini-laboratory that simulates large rooms used by international institutions. He pointed out that the laboratory provides a comprehensive testing environment, including measuring the impact of heat on the cameras and generating detailed reports on their performance under extreme weather conditions to ensure the camera's accuracy, image clarity, and quality. Additionally, it tests the signal-to-noise ratio to ensure clear, distortion-free image transmission.
He also discussed the innovation of smart money transport bags equipped with the highest security standards and the latest technology to protect funds during transport. He explained that these bags feature an advanced alarm system that alerts users in case of any breach attempt, a smart tracking system that allows precise location identification at all times, fire resistance to ensure money protection even in emergencies, advanced technologies to address any security vulnerabilities and enhance protection, and a tamper-resistant design that prolongs the forced opening attempt, allowing for intervention before a theft attempt is successful.
Enhanced Vehicle Tracking Technology
He mentioned that the Tawash system is a smart application enhanced with artificial intelligence to accurately track vehicles by law enforcement agencies. It is an advanced secure transport system specialized in tracking gold transport requests between commercial entities. It allows users and law enforcement to monitor the requests to ensure their safe delivery. The system facilitates fast and secure transportation through the smart app, which allows the client to assign an employee for the gold transport and ensures that the gold reaches its final destination safely.
He also outlined the authority's role in promoting a culture of innovation through overseeing security guards and ensuring they pass certified tests and standards. They design global training curricula to enhance the efficiency of security personnel, work on certifying, licensing, and organizing workers in the security sector to ensure professional readiness, and ensure the safety of fireworks displays and major events. Additionally, they regulate investments and trade in Dubai by developing advanced security systems.
He reported that "Video Guard" is a monitoring system developed by the Security Industry Regulatory Authority (SIRA). It connects the CCTV systems of vital facilities and residential buildings to SIRA to enhance the security ecosystem by providing instant alerts in case of malfunctions and secure backup copies of recordings, raising safety and security standards. He pointed out that it is mandatory to install this system in vital sectors such as shopping malls, hotels, factories, residential buildings, and labor housing, making Dubai a leader in smart security solutions. He also revealed a developmental version of the system targeting the banking sector, exchange offices, and jewelry shops, where the CCTV systems are connected to the facility's alarm system and the control room of the Dubai Police General Headquarters.
